Youth

The teen years are exciting, challenging and often a time of questioning. We believe it is important to walk alongside teens and support them as they begin to make decisions about life and faith. We believe it is important to partner with parents in helping them to raise their children into young adults who choose to accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour and commit their lives to following God.

Therefore we offer a time of Biblical training through our Sunday School program, a time of relationship building with Christian peers through our fellowship time and an opportunity to invite friends through our monthly outreach events.

Sunday School
Sunday School happens every Sunday beginning at 11:15am with a time of worship. This occurs on the main floor of 76 building. At 11:30 teens go to their various classes which run until 12:30pm. During Lent, students were challenged to be more like Christ in a special 40 day challenge with special personal devotions:
*Week 1
*Week 2
*Week 3
*Week 4
*Week 5
*Week 6

In the fall, students were given a personal devotions handbook. See also our prayer brochure for more info on the curriculum.

Barnabas Fellowship

"When he [Barnabas] arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts." Acts 11:23

Barnabas Fellowship is all about encouraging one another and building each other up. It’s an opportunity for teens to develop and deepen relationships with one another, share a meal together, pray for one another and grow in their relationship with the Lord together.

There are 2 opportunities each week to gather together:
*Sunday afternoons following Sunday School. It begins with a meal and is followed by a time of relationship building activities and prayer until 2:30pm.
*Friday evenings from 7-9pm. This is an opportunity to learn more about what it

Outreach Events
There are events every month on Fridays or Saturdays. Sometimes these events take place at the church and sometimes they take place at other locations throughout the city. A detailed calendar of events is given out at the beginning of each term.

Chicago Missions Experience
From July 5th-12th 2008, some of our teens participated in the Chicago Missions Experience.

One Homeless Night
On Nov 23-24, 2007, the youth experienced staying at a homeless shelter in a special program One Homeless Night.
