Paul presents the Macedonian churches as an inspiring example of generosity. Despite severe trials and deep poverty, they overflowed with joy and gave willingly. Their generosity flowed not from abundance, but from hearts transformed by God's grace. True generosity begins when we first give ourselves to the Lord. Paul then points to Christ's ultimate example: though He was rich, yet for our sake He became poor, so that through His poverty we might become rich. Christian giving is not measured by the amount we give, but by willing hearts that respond with sincerity, love, and gratitude for God's grace. How does God's grace shape the way I give and serve?
