Be a Neighbor

Have you ever felt the desire to do something good — but didn’t know how to begin?

Have you ever sensed that, as a church, we are called to care for our community together?

Scripture calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Yet often we may not even know who our neighbors are.

We are forming a Community Service & Outreach Group to support and encourage members who want to care for the people God places in our path.

We are not creating another program.
We are cultivating a posture.

Together, we have more eyes to see needs, more ears to listen, and more hands to serve.

Would you like to be a neighbor?

Our Vision & Values

  • To grow as a church that is:

    • Spiritually sensitive to needs in our daily paths

    • Ready to respond in small but meaningful ways

    • Supportive of one another in acts of service

    • Faithful in reflecting Christ’s love in our community

This group exists to support those who support their neighbors.

  • As members of this group, we commit to:

    Spiritual Sensitivity
Remaining attentive to the Holy Spirit and aware of needs around us.

    Servanthood
Serving humbly, without seeking recognition or reward.

    Stewardship
Using our time, abilities, relationships, and resources wisely, and serving within healthy limits.

    Compassion with Boundaries
Acting out of love, not guilt, while respecting privacy, dignity, and safety.

    Faithfulness in Small Things
Believing that small acts of obedience matter deeply in God’s kingdom.

  • Prayer First
Every initiative is grounded in prayer and discernment.

    Serving Together
We support one another and avoid isolated, long-term solo efforts.

    Wisdom and Accountability
We recognize our limits, communicate clearly, and involve church leadership when appropriate.

    Celebrating God’s Work
We intentionally share testimonies and give thanks for what God is doing among us

Who We Are

What This Group Is

  • A prayer-centered community

  • A place to share needs and opportunities

  • A support network for short-term service efforts

  • A space to celebrate testimonies

  • A bridge between church members and community needs

What This Group Is Not

  • Not a crisis response team

  • Not professional counseling or social work

  • Not long-term solo caregiving

  • Not a replacement for pastoral care

We act prayerfully, wisely, and together.

Our Biblical Model

Luke 10:25–37 – The Good Samaritan

A neighbor:

  • Goes out of his way to help

  • Brings others to where better help is available

  • Does not expect recognition

  • Knows when to ask for help

  • Follows up with care

  • Sees need before labels

  • Acts when opportunity appears

We desire to grow into that kind of church.

How It Works

We operate through a WhatsApp Community platform where members can:

  • Share prayer requests related to community needs

  • Post observations of people who may need help

  • Coordinate short-term service opportunities

  • Share testimonies and praise reports

  • Propose new outreach ideas

There is no pressure to participate.
You are not obligated to take on responsibilities.
We simply ask that you remain prayerful and open to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Who Can Join?

Any attendee who participates in our Sunday services and/or fellowship gatherings may join.

This group is open across all congregations (CM, EM, MM, GM).

Our pastors are present for spiritual guidance but do not supervise daily interactions.
