Devotional
Matthew begins with the genealogy of Jesus, showing that He is the promised descendant of Abraham and David. This lineage includes people with broken stories, reminding us that God’s salvation is not built on human perfection, but on His grace and faithful plan through generations.
Joseph faced a difficult decision, yet he obeyed God after receiving His guidance. His faith reminds us that obedience often requires trusting God's wisdom beyond our own understanding.
Jesus is called “Immanuel”—God with us. This is not just a historical truth, but a living reality: God enters our lives and walks with us.
Reflection
As I look back on my life, where can I recognize God's hand and grace at work in my story?
When facing uncertainty, how can I learn to trust and obey God as Joseph did?
Prayer
Lord,
help me see Your hand in my life,
and trust You even when I do not understand.
